This slow practice is meant to do just that, slow your system down. It is for when our mind is busy and scattered, or when our body's feeling agitated and restless. This practice brings us back into balance by down-regulating our system. Conversely, if you are feeling extra tired, unmotivated or maybe there's a lot of inertia in your system and you are feeling low you might prioritize rest in this practice. The precious moments of rest you cultivate for yourself in this practice may allow you to build up the energy stores for whatever is to come!
Props: a bolster and a few extra blankets lying around to elevate your hips. If you don't have a bolster, you can use a couple of pillows instead.
Start: sitting on either the bolster or pillows.
